Andy Gibb Biography Book, Wikipedia, Age, Singer, Death, Andy Gibb full name Andrew Roy Gibb was born on 5th March 1958 and was a popular singer, especially among teenagers. He was an English-born Australian singer born in Manchester, England. His father’s name was Hugh Gibb and his mother was Barbara Gibb. He also had an elder brother of Maurice, Robin, and Barry. 

After a short period of Andy Gibb’s birth, the family moved to Australia and got settled in Redcliff, Queensland. From a very early age, Gibb started playing at tourist clubs on Ibiza Island and then went t Britain when he was a teenager.  He was doing the job he used to love. His elder brothers had a band called Bees Gees. 

There were many who used to suggest him join the band but he had huge age differences among his brothers. He was the youngest and had eleven years age than his eldest brother Berry and eight years than his twin brothers.  This age gap kept him away from the band.

Andy Gibb Singer Career

In the year 1975 Andy Gibb returned to Australia and started honing his singing and writing skills. He also started making his own compositions and he also released one soon. His first single was on the ATA label which was owned by an Australian veteran performer called Col Joye.

In the year 1976, his single reached the top five on Sydney music. This was going to prove a milestone.  He then got an invitation from Robert Stigwood who was the manager of Bees Gees at that time. Andy Gibb gave many hits and he also became the first male solo artist who was in the number one position on the charts for three consecutive times. His popular albums were

Andy Gibb got into the trap of drugs and drugs do no better to anyone no matter how rich or poor they are. Due to drug abuse, Andy was not able to perform regularly and as a result, he was removed from various projects. 

He was having a romantic relationship which also ended. The last official single by Andy Gibb was “All I Have to Do is Dream” and also the last entry at position 51. His family used to force him to get treatment and he got treatment from the Betty Ford Clinic in the middle of the 1980s. 

He used to attend shows as a guest but he was not able to achieve the success he once had. He was earning less and his debts were big and soon he declared bankruptcy. Now he started to work alongside his brothers again which secured him a contract with the UK Branch of Island Records. 

He then released some songs.  In 1991 a demo was released called “Man on Fire” and then later another demo “Arrow through the Heart” which was never released.

 He then moved to Florida so that he could start working with his brothers. At this time Andy Gibb also got married to his girlfriend Kim Reeder and the couple also had a daughter and they kept her name, Peta. 

The couple soon got divorced and in 1978 their marriage ended. Andy Gibb was struggling with family commitments and so was his wife.  He had to face trials for this but soon his work got recognition and he rose to fame.

Andy Gibb went to England where he started drinking too much and got sick. He was taken to hospital by his family and got admitted to John Radcliffe Hospital due to stomach pain. After three days he took his last breath and died of myocarditis which is inflammation in the chest that causes serious viral infection. 

His constant use of drugs and alcohol was the actual reason for his death. His body was buried in Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills cemetery. Later the band of his brothers Bees Gees performed Don’t Throw It All Away in memory of their younger brother Andy.
