This sacrificing Yagna had too much power, which made Indra dragged into it. Mansa Devi was a goddess of the Hindu religion and all the gods went to Mansa Devi for appeal.
Mansa Devi asked her son named Astika to request Janamejaya to discontinue the Sarpa Satra Yagna. It was not easy to convince Janamejaya. But Astika used many things like his Shastras to impress Janamejaya and he got success in it.
