The arrangements of langars are made in the Sikh’s holy places, where everyone is asked to have a full meal. Volunteers host this langar. In Gurudwaras, people sit together in rows to relish the langar.

The volunteers provide langar with full devotion and also participate in other services such as cleaning floors, washing utensils, etc.

The real concept behind this langar on this auspicious day is that everyone despite their creed, caste, religion, and sex are free to eat together without any communal, social, and political restraints. After the recitation of Rehires Sahib and the evening Ardaas, the kirtan diwan carries on till late at night time.

As a whole, Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated on a large scale in big cities and even small villages. People of the Sikh Community wait for this festival throughout the year.
