About Saina Nehwal Family
Saina was born in a jaat family in Hisar, Haryana on 17th March 1990. She got her badminton skills from her mother Usha Rani who herself was a state-level badminton player. Her father Harvir Singh who worked at the agricultural university in Haryana and was too a badminton player which means skills were in her blood.
Both her parents were champions and there is no surprise how India got the champion. Her parents encouraged her to choose sports and make a mark in her career. Saina started playing badminton at the age of eight. Her coach’s name was Nani Prasad and from her initial days she went through tough training and her schedule was also pretty hard.
Further, she went training under SM Arif who is a renowned badminton coach and had a Dronacharya award. She went training in the Pullela Gopichand’s academy of badminton and this is the place which helped her develop badminton skills and brushed her talent of badminton.
