Best Eisenhower Biography, Early Life, Family, Eisenhower was an American military officer His full name was Dwight David ‘Ike’ Eisenhower. He was a military officer in the United States of America. He was also a statesman who served as the 34th president of the US from 1953 to 1961. During World War II, Eisenhower served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe.

He achieved a 5-star rank as General of the Army. He planned and oversaw two of the most substantial military campaigns of World War II: Operation Torch in the North Africa Campaign in 1942 to 1943 as well as the D-Day invasion of Normandy in 1944.

He was born into a large family of typically Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry in Denison, Texas. He was brought up in Abilene, Kansas. His mother became a witness of Jehovah. His family had a strong religious background. But he belonged to no organized church until 1952.

He won that election and the election in landslides in 1956, both times overcoming Adlai Stevenson II. He worked in office with goals to contain the spread of communism and decrease federal deficits.

Nuclear weapons were recommended by him to end the Korean War in 1953 and may have threatened China with a nuclear attack if a resolution was not reached quickly. During the Suez Crisis of 1956, he convicted the Soviet invasion throughout the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, but no action was taken. He deployed 15k soldiers during the 1958 Lebanon crisis.
